Yesterday, ABC Challenge posted their latest challenge: T is for Thank You. I can hardly believe they are all the way back to T already. I knew that I wanted to do something, but I wasn’t quite sure what. Then, I saw the new challenge over at Cute Card Thursday: Make Your Own. They want us to make our own embellishments or papers or make some element of our card from scratch. A while back, I had played around with making my own flowers using my CM Scallop Circle punch, circle punches and my crimper. I hadn’t really shown anyone the flowers or used them on anything, but now seemed like the time to do so.
I also hand-sewed the flower stems. To make the flowers, I simply use the CM scallop circle punch to make the green background circle. I then punched 4 circles in sizes ranging from 3/4 of an inch up to 1 1/2 inches. I run the circles through the crimper two times to get a criss-cross texture. I then stacked all of the layers and used a brad to create the flower center. They are super easy and a non-artistic person like me can handle making these. (Believe me, the photo doesn’t really do them justice.)
