Happy Birthday, U.S.A.

Where has the year gone? I can’t believe that we are already in July and tomorrow is July 4th. We haven’t bought fireworks and at this point, I doubt that we even will. We have a quiet day of errands and yardwork planned for tomorrow, so it hardly feels like a holiday. But, as a card-maker, I couldn’t let this important day go by without making a card to celebrate it, especially since the challenge over at Stamp Something this weekend was to make something with the colors of your country’s flag. Well, since I am in the United States, that means I get to use red, white and blue and here is my card celebrating the 4th of July.

I used the latest sketch from Sketch Saturday to inspire the layout. Okay, the blues don’t really match the blue of the U.S. flag but you get the idea.

I just want to take this moment to thank our troops who fight to maintain our country’s independence every day and to send a prayer out for all of the soldiers serving far from home this holiday and their families who are sacrificing for all of us.
